Worship Coordinator for Ebenezer CRC Trenton (Draft May 4th, 2026.)
The worship coordinator is responsible for all activities of worship pertaining to Sunday morning services (holiday services/off Sunday services) and activities in developing and leading volunteers in worship and tech related activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Plan and coordinate music and instruments for worship services in consultation with pastor and worship committee as outlined in Sunday Order.
· Provide scheduling for volunteers and others who may need to plan for worship up to two months in advance using google docs worship schedule spreadsheet
· Be responsible for piano, organ, microphones, stands and tech equipment for maintenance
· Lead and or play instrument(s) for music to accommodate songs for majority of services
· Welcome and assist musicians, singers and tech volunteers on Sunday mornings prior to service
· Rehearse with musical and vocal volunteers once during weeknight (Wednesday preferred)
· Correspond with elders, deacons, ushers and kids message volunteers the theme/message of service or special aspects regarding their part
· Work with Tech team and office administrator to maintain worship related bulletin announcements, maintain current multi-media elements needed for services (live stream, easy worship) and Sunday morning script for following and fluidity of service
· Attend monthly worship committee meetings
· Maintain a list of connections (phone numbers) for volunteers partaking in services (musical, vocal, tech) for emergency/scheduling reference
· Handle feedback/comments of worship aspects
· Create a budget outline for monthly/yearly expenses for worship services
· Partake in yearly performance review regarding job description
Relationships and Reporting:
· Be responsible to council
· Be accountable to pastor, personnel committee and worship committee
· Work with volunteers in collaborating engagement of music/ worship
· Work with office administrator on communications to appropriate people(s)
· Connections with sporadic congregants/worshipers and their respective feedback
Qualifications:
· Committed to Christ through an evident personal relationship with Him
· An accomplished musician (able to play and lead with confidence i.e. most psalter hymns and contemporary Christian music)
· Able to provide leadership in the various areas of worship
· Be an encourager for those in working on their gifts or aspects of worship and partaking
· Able to receive comments and feedback pertaining to worship in a caring manner and coordinate communications to appropriate bodies
· Valid police check required to be employed at ECRC Trenton, Ontario
Compensation:
· 15 hours per week compensated at $450 per week including employer costs such as CPP, UI, WSIB and vacation pay
Contract Length:
· A 1-year termed contract commencing from date of hiring acceptance and subject to change in contract length at any given time as agreed upon by both parties
· Subject to a 6-month review after initial 6 months.
