The Ministry to Seafarers will hold its 7th annual Seaway Bike Tour Fundraiser on Sat, Sept 12: Join us in-person or virtually! We ride along the Saint-Lawrence seaway to raise awareness about our work serving seafarers 365 days of the year. Our goal is to raise $25,000 so that we can meet the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of seafarers docking in the port of Montreal. A matching grant of $8,000 means your donations can go further. In 2025 we visited 5,100 seafarers on board 1,224 ships. We transported 3,082 seafarers in our two vans. We served 10,139 seafarers from merchant and cruise ships at the Seafarers’ Centre.

Food Bank: The Coordinator has let us know there is a need for: soup (not tomato), pasta/pasta sauce, peanut free snacks for children, hygiene items (toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo), peanut butter. Thank you for the continued support of the Food Bank and helping folks facing food insecurity. 

Attention all saints - and people who really love the smell of brand-new crayons! The Connections Committee is launching a brand-new mission and it’s a worthy one. Believe it or not, back to school season is sneaking up on us. While local parents are secretly rejoicing, some families at Trent River School (Kindergarten to grade 6) are feeling a major financial pinch trying to get their kids ready. We want to step up and build 25 ultimate school survival kits - specifically, backpacks, lunch pails and fully stocked pencil cases. We need everything from crayons for the tiny humans to coloured pencils for the older kids who have moved on to more sophisticated doodling. Look for the donation bin in the foyer. Let’s bless these kids (and give their parents one less thing to stress about)!

Belleville Thrift Store Manager Employment Opportunity: A non-denominational Christian organization operating to generate revenue for the local Quinte Region Christian Schools, while serving people locally with dignity and respect by demonstrating the love of Christ for them. We are looking for a passionate and hands-on store manager to lead our Belleville thrift store operations.  You will be responsible for driving store revenue, training and scheduling volunteers, overseeing the donation processing flow and fostering a positive environment for both volunteers and customers. Qualifications: Experience in retail management: preferably within thrift, consignment or non-profit environment; Leadership: demonstrated ability to lead, develop and supervise staff or volunteer teams; Skills: strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.  Proficiency of point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office and social media platforms; Sensitivity and discretion in managing volunteer relationships and resolving conflict. This position is for 23-40 hours per week paid at $23/hour. The position is to begin Monday, August 31, 2026.
