Coffee Break: Fall is here and with that brings a new year of Coffee Break, an Interdenominational Ladies Bible Study that we host for churches in our area. This is a time that you will be able to pause, refresh and grow together with others from our community that all form the body of Christ. (We will be digging into Peter’s first letter where we will find out how to live when times are tough and that Jesus is our hope through it all.) Join us Wednesdays for some fun and fellowship from 9:30-11 a.m. starting Sept 30th. Any questions, contact the church office, or Annette at coffeebreakleader@gmail.com

Budget Forms: Reminder that all committees’ and ministries’ budget forms need to be in to Carolyn our Bookkeeper by September 15.

From C of A: There will be a fire drill in September with the ushers, Sunday school teachers, tech team and congregation. Please review your duties, as listed below:

IN CASE OF FIRE!

Ushers:

Every Sunday we have two ushers on duty. In case of fire alarm, the usher in the sanctuary opens the doors, then goes to assist the nursery to evacuate the children in the nursery through the closest exit. When the last child is evacuated, close door and turn off lights. Go to Muster Station, which is at the back of the parking lot.

The hall monitor usher shall go to the annunciator panel to check where the fire is. If it is a false alarm, call the monitoring company, then continue evacuation, helping assist nursery and anyone that does need assistance. If the fire is real, call 911 then go help evacuate nursery, check to make sure no one is left in the nursery. Turn the lights off and close the door. Go to Muster Station, which is at the back of the parking lot.

Tech team:

Help anyone that needs assistance. Make sure the church is empty. Turn off lights, close doors, then proceed to Muster Station, which is at the back of the parking lot.

Service leader:

Tell the congregation to remain calm and leave sanctuary by going to the closest exit and then going to Muster Station, which is at the back of the parking lot.

Sunday school teachers:

Evacuate building. Check to make sure your room is empty. Close door, turn off lights and go to Muster Station, which is at the back of the parking lot.

Congregants:

Look at the person to your left and right, remember them, help anybody that needs assistance leave through the closest exit. Go to Muster Station, which is at the back of the parking lot.

Do not re-enter the building once you have left.

From the Committee of Administration: Please be advised that the projected budget for September 30, 2026, is $370,630.49. Received budget funds to September 10, 2026, are $294,160.99. Please keep this matter in your prayers and donate as you are able.

Food Bank: The Coordinator has let us know there is a need for: soup (not tomato), pasta/pasta sauce, canned vegetables, canned fruit, peanut free snacks for children, hygiene items (toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo), peanut butter. Thank you for the continued support of the Food Bank and helping folks facing food insecurity.

Attention Girls in Grade 3 to Grade 8! This year, GEMS Girls’ Clubs will be exploring the theme Wayfinder, based on John 14:6, where Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life.” In a world filled with messages encouraging us to follow our hearts or create our own truth, girls will be encouraged to anchor their lives in the unchanging Truth of God’s Word. Together with caring GEMS leaders, friends, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, GEMS learn to follow Jesus—the Way, the Truth, and the Life—as they navigate life. Sermon Notes Handouts, children’s Bibles and pencil crayons are available for children in grades 5 and up who don’t attend Sunday school.  Please return materials to the table after the service. 

Friendship Help: We are looking for a few volunteers to help with Friendship coffee (only 2 or 3 times a season) and we always welcome new volunteers to Friendship.

Our Cadet program is praying for two new volunteer counselors! While all willing adults are welcome, we are on a special mission to find a hero with administrative experience. If you find genuine peace in color-coding schedules, planning events, and keeping track of who brought three left boots to camp, consider this your official sign from above. You’ll get to mentor boys in faith, leadership, and life skills, join a great team, and serve as the organizational mastermind holding the whole operation together.

Please pray about whether the Lord is nudging you to fill one of these two spots. September 13 Offering: The second offering supports Deacons Causes, and their benevolence, helping those in need within church family, as well as reaching out in love to those in our community where there is great need due to high cost of living, and lack of affordable housing.

September 20 Offering: Resonate Global Mission was formed merging Home and World Missions. This CRC agency is focused on equipping churches with resources and support to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Its main goal is to train missional leaders, guide new church plants and forge partnerships to proclaim and live out the gospel worldwide. For more info: www.resonateglobalmission.org

Highlights of September 3, 2026, Council Meeting

· Pastor Josh Tuininga and Elder Brian Suurdt attended the council meeting as church visitors.

·      On Thurs Nov 26 at 7 p.m. we will have our Fall Congregational Meeting & Dessert Social.

· Two cadet counsellors are required.

· Backpacks collected by Ebenezer were given to Trent River, with many thanks by staff there.

·      Council agrees to hold its next meeting on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 7 p.m.
