Support for the Warming Centre: As the cold weather continues, our city’s Warming Center has become a vital refuge for those in need. On harsh nights, they welcome 20-30 guests each night for warmth, food, and care.
We are asking for your help to be the Lord’s hands and feet in this ministry. The Warming Center is in urgent need of single-serving, easy-to-prepare food items such as: single packs of oatmeal, noodles, juice boxes, fruit cups, pudding cups, etc. Single servings are easy for individuals to take away in backpacks when it’s time to leave but also easy to manage individually while folks are at the Warming Centre.
Your donations will help provide comfort, nourishment, and hope to our neighbors during these challenging winter days.
Please bring your contributions to the church foyer collection area this week. Together, we can share God’s love in this most tangible way.
Grocery Purchaser Needed: The Mealbox program is looking for a person to act as their grocery purchaser. If you are interested, there is a document we can share with you that describes the position and what it all entails. Mealbox runs bi-weekly which would require this person to order groceries twice a month to support the program. AND much of the work can be done online. So if you like buying groceries, this may be the job for you. Please contact the office or Gary, Nelly F or Henny W.
Food Bank Needs: goldfish crackers, school safe snacks, peanut butter, jam, canned meats like flakes of ham or chicken, dry soups, condensed milk/evaporated milk, stove top stuffing, gravy, baby food, formula, diapers size 4, 5, 6, baby wipes, no-sugar added items, sugar-free sweetener, cookies (any store bought cookies), diced tomatoes, medium and large peanut butter, juice boxes and/or juice crystals, infant formula, baby food and cereals, canned corn, canned peas
Redeemer University Psychology Thesis students Sara Hoogstad and Alia Breukelman are looking for participants for a study titled The Role of Grandparenting in Identity Meaning. They are hoping to interview grandparents who are under 80 and living independently to complete a study on the role of being a grandparent in developing personal identity. For information, email abreukelman@redeemer.ca or shoogstad@redeemer.ca. Participants will receive a $10 gift card to either Visa, Amazon, Tim Hortons, or Starbucks as a thank you for participating. This project is being supervised by Dr. Marie Good, Psychology professor at Redeemer University,mgood@redeemer.ca
CNOY: The Care & Share Food Bank’s largest fundraiser of the year is coming up on Sat, Feb 28th, 2026. For the Coldest Night of the Year event, individuals and teams can go online and register to walk (2 km or 5 km) and raise funds that will go toward helping the food bank. The goal this year is a lofty $70,000 and right now they are only at about 3% of that goal. Link to Register
Holy Hands & Heavenly Tricks: Progressive Euchre Tournament at the Church
Dear Card Sharks & Saints-in Training: It's time to shuffle up, deal, and pray your partner knows the difference between trump and a trick! Join us for an evening of friendly competition, laughter, and maybe a little divine intervention in your hand.
Date, Time: February 20th, 6:30 pm
Location, Entry fee: Ebenezer CRC, Trenton, With a dessert
Whether you're a Euchre expert or still think "left bower" is a pew in the back, you're welcome at our tables. Partners will change each round, so you'll have plenty of chances to make new friends (and maybe a few friendly rivals)
Come for the cards, stay for the fellowship, and leave with a heart full of joy. RSVP by Feb. 13th so we can save you a seat at the tables. There will be a sign up sheet at the table by the back door.
The Banner Magazine: If you enjoy and look forward to a physical copy of The Banner magazine, Council is asking that you please sign the list or notify the office that you would like to continue receive it. The list will be available at a side of the table, main (west side) entrance for about a month. Then Council will collect the names and have the issues when available set into corresponding mailboxes. Please also share with anyone that there will be limited amounts of extras available for guests or a member to take home but are seeking to not have these publishings discarded as much as possible. Location of extra copies will be in the front foyer. Thank you for your consideration and help with this matter. Feel free to contact a council member for any further questions. You can also use this link - sign up form - to sign up to receive a copy of The Banner each month.
